D. Pharmacy or D. Pharm is a diploma level course for aspirants who wish to study pharmacy and opt for a career option in medicine. It is a 2-year full-time diploma course designed to prepare candidates to work as licensed pharmacist in hospitals, community pharmacies, and other pharmaceutical-related fields. D. Pharm course covers basic pharmacy education including the pharmaceutical industry, application of chemistry, concepts of biochemistry, pharmacology and toxicology.
The course enables the students to learn about different chemical salts, their application and uses in medicine. D. Pharm course provides the minimum qualification to become a Registered Pharmacist in India.
The minimum qualification is 10+2. It must be passed with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology subjects. For admission to this course, candidates must have completed 17 years of the year of admission.
B Pharm (Bachelor in Pharmacy) is a job oriented undergraduate degree for science students who want to make a career in the pharmacy sector. B. Pharm course duration is of 4 years with 8 semesters. This course is designed to introduce students with the properties and impacts of pharmaceutical drugs. The course also helps students in developing the skills essential to counsel patients about medication and use of drugs.
After completion of this degree, the students can practice as a Pharmacist. Pharmacists can work in a range of industries related to the prescription, manufacture & provision of medicines and Innovation of new medicines.
A pass in 10+2/12 std./PUC with 40% marks in aggregate in PCB/PCM/PC with Computer Science/PC with Electronics.
Candidates who have passed D. Pharma course with not less than 50% aggregate and approved by pharmacy council of India shall be admitted directly to IInd B.Pharma course.
