Abstract: Cancer is a group of diseases categorized based on abnormal uncontrolled cell growth, which might invade to others parts of body too, called as malignant tumour and were as some doesn’t spread known as benign tumour. Irrespective of cancer type it’s a chronic complex disease among the others. The basic reason for cancer development may be gene instability (genetic mutations) or DNA damage. In spite of these reasons, the other factors are environmental factors, lifestyle, and behavioural facts. The causative factors of cancer development and growth includes, exposure to sunlight, radiation, air pollution, and others physical and chemical factors includes like use of tobacco causes 25-30% death, environmental factors causes 20 to 25 % .and pollutants causes 30-35% death, radiation (ionizing and nonionizing) causes 10-12% death. The various synthetic drugs are established for the treatment and few of herbal medicines such as Vincristine, Vinblastine, Taxol, Paclitaxol, Podophyllotoxin and its derivatives are even used from longer time, hence there is a need to find novel and potent source of medicine from herbal source. The present article is based on the existing and upcoming new herbal actives for the treatment of the complex disease, "Cancer".

Abstract: Herbal plants and products are widely used for the treatment of the various acute and chronic diseases, due to wide and complex availability of the phyto-constituents in the various organoleptic parts of the herbs. The present research work is based on the treatment of the dengue using the herbal and herbal product, which helps people who are suffering. Dengue fever is mainly affected by the carrier mosquito (Aedes aegypti), it was observed that the dengue patient shows the rapid reduction in platelet count. This was even the main reason for many peoples death around the globe. The ethanobotanoical information and olden documents act as based to screen the aqueous extract of the Carrica papaya (Carricaseae) for the treatment of dengue fever. 1% chloroform water was used for the preparation of the aqueous extract. Approximately 30ml of the Carica papaya leaf extract was administered to the patient thrice daily i.e. morning, afternoon and night daily for five consecutive days. The platelet count was taken from the patient before administration and the after adm blood report before the administration of the extract shows that platelet count, white blood cells and neutrophils were reduced to the 48%. After the administration of the extract for five days the blood sample was analysed again and was observed that the platelet count, white blood cells and neutrophils were increased from 48% to the 76%. From the patients recovering and blood report also tells that Carica papaya leaf extract exhibited potential activity against dengue fever. Further the patient who was having the fever for more than a week was administered this aqueous extract and also found positive response from the patient and understood that Carica papaya is very valuable species that can used to treat the various viral diseases

Abstract: Cancer is one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide. Many of the plants traditionally reported to possess antitumor activity. The present study was carried out to evaluate the anticancer activity of different plant extracts in combination, which will be an attempt to prove the poly-herbal combination for in- vitro anticancer property. In present study different plant extracts such as Withania somnifera, Asparagus gonoclados, Azardiracta indiaca, and Streblus asper were used to prepare the combined extract in 1: 1 ratio. The present research work had carried out on laboratory level assay to avoid the use of different animal models. Preliminary phyto-chemical tests of successive solvent extracts powder had performed to find out the different chemical moieties as per standard procedures. Preliminary anticancer screening by exposure of different extracts on Onion Root model was carried out to find out the lead extract which showed the promising cell growth inhibitory activity. The anti-mitotic assay by onion root method was selected because this is easy to done and give fastest promising results. Onion was selected for the anti-mitotic assay which shows mitotic index inhibition that compared with standard anti-mitotic drug (Vincristine). The attempt was taken to determine the stage at which drugs stops the cell division. The Alcohol extract of all plant drugs in combination shows most promising anticancer activity in comparison to standard and control used. Further present result will be helpful to screen the drug for in vivo anticancer activity and related pharmacological properties in combination.

Abstract: This work aimed to formulate and develop a buccoadhesive bilayer tablet using bioadhesive polymers carbopol, xanthan gum along with ethyl cellulose as an impermeable backing layer. Buccal delivery of drugs provides an attractive alternative to the oral route of drug administration, particularly in overcoming the problems like difficulty in swallowing. Problems such as high first-pass metabolism and drug degradation in the harsh gastrointestinal environment can be circumvented by administering the drug via the buccal route. Moreover, buccal drug absorption can be promptly terminated in case of toxicity by removing the dosage form from the buccal cavity. The formulation consists of two layers one is of drug Diltiazem HCl and another layer is of polymer ethyl cellulose. This is called a backing layer, the backing layer is added to prevent the loss of drug. This type of drug delivery system is formulated to enhance the drug bioavailability and to minimize the drug leaking into saliva. The preformulation study was performed by FTIR. The first layer which adheres to mucosa was obtained by direct compression of mucoadhesive polymers and drug. The second layer containing water-impermeable agent ethyl cellulose was compressed on the first layer. Eight formulations of Diltiazem HCl were prepared by the direct compression method. The formulations were subjected to various evaluation parameters like weight variation, hardness, swelling index, in vitro drug release, bioadhesion strength. The formulation F3 was considered as the optimized formulation based on satisfactory drug release, bioadhesion strength. The use of xanthan gum, HPMC K100, carbopol 940 showed proper sustained release of the drug.
